Remembering Katheen Lundgren, a Valued and Admired MnSTA Colleague

Kathleen Lundgren died suddenly February 25, 2017.

Not all of us knew her but she had a long relationship with MnSTA, e.g.,
  • a member
  • board member
  • MDE's science specialist
  • chair of an NSTA regional conference
  • the science lead in the development of a great experiment in assessment, the Profiles of Learning (a precursor to standards)
  • as a strong advocate for science safety which led to an ambitious project, the development and distribution of science safety trunks for schools
  • science educator at the Science Museum of Minnesota
  • and much more.

In other words we owe her a lot and it is more than fair to say that she influenced science education in Minnesota and MnSTA as an organization.

There is a short obituary in the Minneapolis Star Tribune where you may leave a note for Gary (husband) and her family.
