Kathleen Lundgren died suddenly February 25, 2017.
Not all of us knew her but she had a long relationship with MnSTA, e.g.,
- a member
- board member
- MDE's science specialist
- chair of an NSTA regional conference
- the science lead in the development of a great experiment in assessment, the Profiles of Learning (a precursor to standards)
- as a strong advocate for science safety which led to an ambitious project, the development and distribution of science safety trunks for schools
- science educator at the Science Museum of Minnesota
- and much more.
In other words we owe her a lot and it is more than fair to say that she influenced science education in Minnesota and MnSTA as an organization.
There is a short obituary in the Minneapolis Star Tribune where you may leave a note for Gary (husband) and her family.
