Join the Center for Great Lakes Literacy and Great Lakes scientists on a research expedition July 8-14, 2017, on Lake Huron. Fifteen lucky formal and informal educators of 4th through 12th grade students from throughout the Great Lakes watershed will spend a week onboard the R/V Lake Guardian learning about Great Lakes science, human impacts and classroom applications. Educators and Great Lakes scientists will conduct research side by side using state-of-the-art techniques and monitoring equipment to explore Lake Huron's biology, geology, and chemistry. Stops in Port Huron and Alpena, Michigan, will provide additional learning opportunities.

The workshop begins and ends in Detroit, Michigan. Stipends are provided and graduate credit is available.

Applications are due Monday, February 27, 2017. Visit CGLL.org for more information and application materials.
