AN INVITATIONTO JOIN MnEdTalk, - AN ELECTRONIC DISCUSSION LIST

MnEdTalk, an e-mail discussion list for education professionals in the state of Minnesota is forming.

The purpose of MnEdTalk is to offer a vehicle for educators to exchange ideas ranging from day-to-day classroom issues, to technology in the classroom, to educational philosophy.

Sponsored by Southwest State University in Marshall, MnEdTalk will be used by Minnesota educators to air questions and share ideas.

The ease of connecting with educators all over the state through the Internet will reduce the sense of "isolation" that many teachers feel as a result of more demands placed on their crowded teaching schedules.

A teacher in Wabasso, for example, could ask the discussion list for suggestions about teaching writing to high school freshmen on Monday morning. As soon as Monday afternoon, she could be reading about innovative, tested ideas from writing teachers all over the state!

The discussion list will be a well of experience that educators can return to and continually dip into for refreshing and innovative ideas! And it is Minnesota's students who will benefit the most from this electronic idea exchange

Minnesota educators are invited to subscribe to MnEdTalk by typing MnEdTalk@lists.southwest.msus.edu in the address line of an e-mail message, and the word "subscribe" (without the quote marks) in the subject field. A message will shortly arrive by e-mail which will present them with simple directions for using the state's newest free teachers' resource.

Further questions can be directed to the list's discussant, Tom Guttormsson, at the following address: tbgbp@starpoint.net.
