Reform & Technology in Education

A new series of high school modules is being developed by a team of educators working in the TechMap project. The National Science Foundation funds this project. Thirty-five modules using technical applications, such as those found in trade, manufacturing, and transportation, teach mathematical concepts. Currently, COMAP is seeking field-test teachers for the modules. Field-test teachers will be asked to test modules in classes of their choice and return a short questionnaire about their experience. Descriptions of modules ready for field-testing can be found at COMAP's web site at www.comap.com under High School News and Events or by calling 1-800-772-6627.

The Bayer Corporation has been a large supporter of science education. Below is a web address which will give you great details about a recent survey they funded along with NSF. There appears to be great support among American adults for science education and scientific research.
