Job Description / Duties

St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks candidates for the position of Lower School Science teacher.

Positions Begins: August 2019
Status: Full-time, Exempt
Department: Instructional Faculty, Lower School (grades K-5)

Job Description:
Candidates should possess the ability to teach a full range of life, physical, earth, and computer sciences and engineering. In addition, candidates should demonstrate the ability to create developmentally appropriate, interdisciplinary curricula, establish a nurturing and engaging classroom environment for students, and work collaboratively with a teaching partner, various colleagues, and parents/guardians. Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with knowledge regarding best instructional practices in elementary science.
All candidates are expected to carry out the mission of SPA, "Shaping the minds and hearts of the people who will change the world," to support the vision of the Lower School and to contribute to the life of the school outside of the classroom.
Required Skills:
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in a science discipline or a related field (master's degree preferred) and should have experience teaching elementary level science courses.
