From Earth’s History to Biodiversity: Tools for teaching with open science workshop

When: 22-24 July 2019

Where: University of California Museum of Paleontology

Who: Middle, high school, and college instructors, and biology education researchers with interested in incorporating up-to-date and scientific data into their lesson plans in the areas of History of Earth, Biological Evolution, Ecosystems and Heredity and/or assessing the use of open science in the classroom. No programming skills are needed. No personal computer is needed but it will help.

What: A three day Workshop to develop resources that leverage Open Science resources from public repositories and organizations specialized in keeping and making available the latest scientific information on organisms such as geographical distributions, traits, phylogenetic relationships, fossil distributions,

Expenses: This is an NSF sponsored workshop. Travel and lodging will be covered for selected participants
