Job Description / Duties

An adjunct instructor to teach one section of EDU371 Science Curriculum and Methods, which is taught through a team model and to a cohort of undergraduate students who are taking the same block of courses.

Prepare and teach EDU371 Science Curriculum and Methods, and collaborate with a team to co-plan some teaching days.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Candidate should possess content expertise and display the ability to engage future teachers in learning the methods, materials, and resources for teaching science in grades K-6 using models of inquiry and discovery in a standards-based classroom. Candidate must embrace the liberal arts educational mission and evangelical Christian orientation of the University, and demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Candidate must demonstrate the ability to contribute to Bethel's anti-racism efforts and cross-cultural understanding.

Elementary teaching license and experience teaching science at the elementary level required. Higher education teaching experience preferred.

Masters degree in a related field required. Doctorate degree or additional graduate work in Science Education preferred.

Additional Information

Position open: Spring semester 2020 (February 3 – May 15, 2020)

Salary: Salary and rank commensurate with level of education and professional experience.
