Looking for a fun summer teaching job?

The Works Museum is looking for educators to teach summer camps and workshops

The Works Museum makes learning about science and engineering interesting, engaging, and fun. Our mission is to inspire the next generation of innovators, engineers, and creative problem solvers. If you’re looking for a summer job where you can make a difference for kids in our community, this might be a fit for you. 

We are looking for people who share our passion for science, technology, and engineering. Summer STEM educators teach our day camps and workshops to children ages 5-13. Most programs take place at the Museum, although we also have outreach programs.

Our summer programs take place June 8 through September 3. We ask that you commit to working at least six weeks, all summer, or anything in between. Positions available working 15-20 or 30-40 hours per week. Core hours occur Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications 
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Elementary Education or Secondary STEM Education. 

At least 1 year of experience working with elementary-age children, in an informal or formal setting: schools, early childhood centers, after-school programs, summer camps, museums, etc. 

Excellent communication skills. 

Interest and/or background in a STEM field. 

Experience working with diverse communities. 

Ability to lift 50 pounds. 

A valid Minnesota driver’s license. 

Personal Attributes 

Proven ability to work in a team setting as well as independently. 

Punctuality, attention to detail, and excellent follow-through. 

Flexibility and a good sense of humor.
