Hello High School teachers,

There are three weeks before the deadline for applications for the National Youth Science camp and we have few application. So I encourage you to reach out to seniors who would benefit from this free opportunity Think of the students who have strong interested in science and are well-rounded in their interests. They do not have to be the top students academically. Take a look at the flyer and the application and think of who you should encourage for this great opportunity.

The National Youth Science Camp is a FREE 3+ week experience for 2 delegates from each state.  MDE selects the Minnesota delegates from applications (we usually get very few applicants). This camp usually occurs in the mountains of West Virginia, but this year it will be virtual June 28 – July 21. Highlights are

  • Daily lectures and seminars with leading scientists
  • Directed studies alongside visiting and resident STEM professionals
  • Engaging activities in the natural, physical, computer sciences, and creative arts
  • Opportunities for delegates to engage with STEM professionals, staff, and each other in fun and meaningful ways
  • Special events and surprise guests throughout NYSCamp
  • 4.5 hour commitment per day, mostly in the late afternoon/evening hours.
  • Delegates attend free of charge

Please distribute this flyer  to potential applicants and encourage them to go to https://www.nysf.com/w/programs/nyscamp/. The application is due the end of February.

Your encouragement will help them have this outstanding experience.
