The Engineering Machine Design Contest is an opportunity for teams of 3-10 students to design and build a complex machine using everyday objects with the guidance of a coach.

VIRTUAL CONTEST

April 5-9, 2021

WHAT: Teams of 3-10 students build a chain reaction machine and document their process and machine design through an Engineering Journal and short videos.

 

WHO: 5th-8th Grade (Junior Division) & 9th-12th Grade (Senior Division)

 

WHEN: April 5-9 | Registration and submissions due March 29th

 

CHAIN REACTION MACHINE: A complex, multi-step machine designed to complete a simple task (examples).

 

MACHINE THEME: Driving Change Through Transportation

 

BUILD OPTIONS: One-Location or Multiple-Location Machines Permitted

 

COST: $100/team of three; +$10/each additional team member

 

 

Top placing teams will have the opportunity to advance to the Engineering Machine Design Championship in May!
