Presentation Details: 

Who:  Rick Potts is the founder and director of the Human Origins Program at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Washington, DC. Dr. Potts is globally-recognized for investigations of Earth’s environmental dynamics and the origin of human adaptations. In partnership with the National Museums of Kenya, Potts leads ongoing excavations in southern and western Kenya. He also conducts field projects in southeastern and northern China. His ideas about how environmental instability influenced human evolution have stimulated ongoing discussions in Earth sciences, paleontology, and computational biology.
