The SkillsUSA Minnesota Team Engineering Challenge (TEC) is a same-day contest offered to middle and high school students. In TEC, students work in teams of 2 to 4 students to design and develop a prototype to solve a transportation-related problem provided by an imaginary potential ‘client’.

Registration Deadline: Sunday, April 25th

$25 per team member. Cost includes all materials, supplies, t-shirt, mask, and lunch.

 

This contest is open to any middle school (5th-8th grade) or high school (9-12th grade) teams of 2 to 4 students. The SkillsUSA Minnesota Team Engineering Challenge (TEC) is a contest designed to evaluate and recognize outstanding students for excellence and professionalism in creative- and critical- thinking skills and the decision-making process needed to solve a problem. Teams of two to four students work to create a mechanism to perform a specified task utilizing various components from the kit of everyday items that will be provided to them. The contest is intended to foster creativity, innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
