Orono Public Schools will be hosting professional development related to implementing the 2019 Minnesota Science Standards with separate sessions for grade 6-12 teachers (October 7/8) and K-5 teachers (October 25/26).

Orono Public Schools will be hosting professional development related to implementing the 2019 Minnesota Science Standards with separate sessions for grade 6-12 teachers (October 7/8) and K-5 teachers (October 25/26).  The sessions feature Brett Moulding, a lead author of  the Next Generation Science Standards and past presenter with the Minnesota Department of Education's Science Leader Network.
 
Brett has extensive science teaching and curriculum leadership experience at the local, state (Utah) and national level.  His sessions are focused on introducing students to the science standards and practices through engaging them with everyday phenomena, followed by providing opportunities to Gather information, Reason with data and Communicate their thinking - or the GRC approach.
