Indigenous Fire: Learning opportunity for educators May 15

Educators are invited to join the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community (SMSC) for a free professional development day focused on cultural uses of fire.

Attendees will participate in experiential learning on the prairie, tour Hoċokata Ṫi's exhibit "Mdewakanton: Dwellers of the Spirit Lake," and learn about the book "Wildfire The Culture, Science, and Future of Fire" and how it can be used in classrooms.

Lunch, continuing education units (CEUs) and resources will be provided. This opportunity was funded by the SMSC's Understand Native Minnesota campaign.
