Register for Climate Literacy 101 Professional Development
The Minnesota Department of Education's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Center, Division of Early Education and the Department of Children, Youth and Families’ Early Learning Services Division are excited to partner with the Center for Climate Literacy from the University of Minnesota to provide a free 3-hour workshop on climate literacy and best practices in outdoor education!
Climate literacy is about helping students understand and care about our Earth – the air, water, and living things around them – and how we all connect/belong. This exciting work is about sparking their natural curiosity and encouraging them to be kind to their world. Hear from climate literacy experts, learn about resources to support your outdoor instruction from the Early Education team and beyond, and identify ways you can take action and foster a love and respect for the outdoors with your school community.
This free session will invite participants to engage on climate literacy through self-reflection, partnering with others and identifying more equitable and inclusive strategies to use in a classroom setting. We will be spending part of the session outdoors, so please dress accordingly for the weather. Attendees will receive three hours of CEUs or clock hour credit and copies of “We are Water Protectors” and “Walking Together” to support their climate literacy journey!
Space is limited. Register today for Climate Literacy 101.
