About the Session
Looking for meaningful ways to integrate the “T” in STEM into your K-5 instruction? Toshiba/NSTA ExploraVision (www.exploravision.org ) is a K-12 STEM competition that engages teams of 2-4 students to envision ways to solve student selected real-world problems by reimagining current technology for applications 10 years from now. This unique STEM competition sparks and sustains problem finding and problem solving using technological ideas. Not only does this approach emphasize technology, but requires students to use English Language Arts to communicate their solutions.
Come experience this approach and learn how to get started! The ExploraVision competition is a great way to engage all of your students in developing a love for STEM. It can be used as classroom enrichment to boost student interest and STEM identity—or as a project base for STEM clubs. You'll also have the opportunity to work with an award-winning ExploraVision K–5 coach, who will help you explore how to guide your students in identifying relevant, real-world problems and designing future-focused technological solutions—all while integrating literacy skills.
