The Board of Directors welcomes Josh Tharaldson as President-elect of MnSTA.

On behalf of the MnSTA Nominations Committee, I am extremely pleased to announce that Mr. Josh Tharaldson was elected to the office of President-Elect for the Minnesota Science Teachers Association.  His four-year presidential term will begin July 1, 2017. Josh Tharaldson is a science teacher at Marshall County Central (MCC) High School in Newfolden where he has taught 7th grade Life Science, 8th Grade Earth Science, Junior High Elective STEM, 9th Grade Physical Science, 10th Grade General and College Prep Biology, and Senior High Ecology. He serves as an advisor for the high school VEX robotics teams, the Knowledge Bowl, and co-advisor of the Close-Up program which brings juniors and seniors to Washington D.C. for one week. His passion is connecting students with the outdoors, where he is currently leading a partnership between the MCC High School and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to create a six-acre restored prairie site which will be available to all students and the community for use as an outdoor classroom and nature preserve. The MnSTA Board of Director and the MnSTA Membership welcome Josh Tharaldson as President-elect of our association.

Sincerely,

Michele Koomen, MnSTA President
