The 2017 Fall Conference of Science Education is scheduled for Friday, November 10th and Saturday, November 11th at the Rivers Edge Convention Center in St. Cloud, MN. There is also a special pre-conference workshop on Thursday, November 9.

 

Thursday Pre-Conference Event: Jeffers Foundation workshop "Team Teaching with Mother Nature"

Keynote Speaker: U of MN professor Dr. Jim Kakalios

Strand speakers

  • Biology: Dr. Paul Myers, U of M Morris
  • Chemistry: Dr. Roger Kugel, Univ. of Cinncinati
  • Earth Science: Dr. Kent Kirkby, U of  MN
  • Elementary: Dr. PatriciaPaulson , Bethel University

Saturday:

  • K-8 teachers can enjoy a workshop from Code.org all about integrating programming easily with their FREE curriculum.
  • Middle and high school teachers can start with the Science and Engineering Practices in Action (SEPA) Workshop for 'Free and Fun Professional Development for Teachers of Science'.  This active workshop will being at 8 am and run until 10 AM.  At 10 AM, join Tom Tomshek for a session on creating Squishy Circuits (learn about electricity with batteries and Play-Doh!).
  • Open to all conference registrants is a full day of relicensure workshops designed for you.  Stick around to pick up ALL the required licensure CEUs you'll need for MN relicensure in one day!  More info coming here soon.
