Scholarship Opportunity! Generation Nano: Superheroes Inspired by Science! – Open to 6-12th graders

Looking for a way to inspire your students with a scholarship opportunity? The National Science Foundation and the National Nanotechnology Initiativeare excited to announce the continuation of Generation Nano: Superheroes Inspired by Science, a science superhero competition! We’re challenging middle school and high school students to create or empower a unique superhero using science and engineering. Students then tell their hero’s story -- how they used science to solve crimes and meet today’s challenges -- in a short comic or 90 second video. Students can work individually or in teams of two to three. Submission window: Sept. 18, 2017 – Jan. 8, 2018. Learn more at nsf.gov/GenNano.

Students compete for a chance to win scholarship money and a trip to Washington, D.C. to attend the 2018 USA Science & Engineering Festival to present their hero, and the science behind it. Teachers who encourage the first place teams can also win a cash prize.
