The South Pole Experiment Contest

Students design an experiment for the South Pole. If your students win, their experiment will be conducted at the South Pole in the upcoming summer season, from November 2017 to February 2018, where they can follow the results online. Complete information is available at http://spexperiment.icecube.wisc.edu. You can have one entry per class, with either all students participating or a smaller group of at least four students.

Please check out the experiment webpage, and contact James Madsen directly at james.madsen@uwrf.edu or 715-425-4390 with questions.

You can also follow teacher Lesley Anderson’s expedition at www.polartrec.com/member/lesley-anderson. She will deploy to the South Pole in the upcoming season, working at the IceCube Neutrino Observatory and also with another project that looks for extremely high energy particles from outer space.
