by , posted on 1:32 PM, November 6, 2017

The NOAA Planet Stewards Education Project (PSEP) provides formal and informal educators working with elementary through university age students with sustained professional development, collaborative tools, and support to build a scientifically-literate public actively engaged in environmental stewardship that conserves, restores, and protects human communities and natural resources related to NOAA’s mission.

If you join the Stewardship Community, you are committing to:

> Develop a stewardship project as defined by NOAA Planet Stewards (definition below)
> Participate in/view monthly PSEP Web seminars – usually the 1st Monday evening each month
> View and reflect on five archived PSEP webinar videos (2017 or earlier. ~1hour/video)
> Participate in a Stewardship Project Peer Review Group - 1 meeting/month
> Use the PSEP Wiki to post your stewardship project plans, progress updates, share resources, and comments with other PSEP educators.
> Participate in PSEP evaluation efforts i.e. online surveys.

Educators accepted into the Stewardship Community and fulfilling the above requirements will be eligible to apply for:
> Funding of up to $2500.00 to carry out an environmental stewardship action project. (Funding MAY NOT be used by a grantee to cover salaries or transportation/lodging/fees for professional conferences as part of the project).
> Travel reimbursements to attend and present at select workshops &/or national conferences following the successful completion of a stewardship action project.

The application to join the PSEP Stewardship Community includes a brief project pre-proposal. If accepted, participants will work with a peer review group and a peer mentor to refine their proposal, which may be submitted for funding of up to $2500.00 by June 1, 2017. Accepted proposals are funded for the 2018/2019 academic year.

The deadline to submit an application to join the PSEP Stewardship Community is midnight November 27, 2017. Applicants will be notified of their status by December 16, 2017.

All information submitted on the application will be retained by the NOAA Planet Stewards Education Project. It will NEVER be shared with anyone at anytime without the express written permission of the applicant.

Once you hit "send form" you will NOT be able to return to this same application and make changes. It is recommended you compile all the information you intend to submit using our application template, then copying and pasting it into the required fields when you are ready to apply.
