Sarah Betts, a senior, invented an orthopedic hand device that she has been developing since she was 12.  Betts plays the violin and also suffers from rheumatoid arthritis. According to the story by Josh Verges, St. Paul Pioneer Press, she "noticed she got relief in the left hand from holding down the strings of her instrument."  So one thing led to another and eventually to a device "which mimics the movements of the violinist's left hand."  Tests showed that, It resulted in relief and increases grip.

ViEx is patented (Betts holds two), and is also being used in two metro clinics.

Congratulations.
