Need Reviewers for Math Assessment Items

Dr. Theodore J. Christ and his research team in Educational Psychology at the University of
Minnesota are developing math assessment items for students in grades 9-12. Items will be
included in an adaptive math assessment that is currently used by schools across the country.  
We need math educators or others with similar skills (e.g., educators on sabbatical, retired, in-
transition, math experts, etc.) who can participate in item reviews from late December 2017 –
April 2018. Item review criteria, specifications, and guidelines will be provided.

Necessary requirements:  
• Math educator or educator in a related topic for grades 7-12.  
• Able to work independently and deliver completed work in a timely manner.
• Able to meet in person or in an on-line webinar for at least one (1) item review
workshop and other required training December - April.  
• Able to follow item review specifications and guidelines.  
• Able to revise items to meet requirements of a given blueprint and other specifications.  
• Able to communicate and access written materials using Google drive, email or other
electronic sources, if required.  
• Must commit to work for the entire time period.
 
Preferred experience:  
• Previous math item writing experience for this grade level.  
• Previous experience working in math-related content development in elementary or
secondary schools.  

Pay is per item @ $30/hour equivalency rate.
