NOAA Planet Stewards and Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy Workshop

March 1 - 3, 2018

Workshop Location:
Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy. 1500 Sullivan Rd., Aurora, IL 60506-1000 

Registration Fees: $30 

This multi-day workshop will be hosted by the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy and NOAA Planet Stewards. Participants will engage in active learning sessions that address Climate Action, Clean Water, Affordable and Clean Energy, and other topics related to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Attendees will have the opportunity to choose to be a part of an environmental design sprint or dive deep into Three Dimensional Learning unit planning with experts from the Climate Literacy & Energy Awareness Network. A legislative luncheon is planned for Saturday with the opportunity to hear from and interact with local elected officials.

The workshop will kick off with a private evening reception at the SciTech Hands On Museum on Friday evening. Attendees will create their own fizzy beverages at the Drink Lab, explore ideas through a museum scavenger hunt, and enjoy unlimited access to the entire museum including a special traveling exhibit on Oceans: Acid vs. Life.

Continental breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided for both full days of the workshop.
