Experience the discovery of a lifetime!

The Virtual Experiences team at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science invites you and your students to join us for Scientists in Action: After the Asteroid, a FREE virtual field trip that takes students to the site of an incredible scientific breakthrough. A remarkable new trove of fossils has been unearthed in Colorado—a discovery that reveals one of the most important but least understood chapters in the history of life. It’s an unprecedented look at the time when the great dinosaurs were replaced by our own group, the mammals, and the world as we know it began. This program will connect your classroom to the scientists at the center of this discovery!

Participation requires only a computer connected to the internet, and is perfect for school groups, libraries, home schools, and organized youth groups. The content of each live Q&A session is determined by your students’ questions. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to glimpse this incredible site, all from the comfort of your own classroom!

Date:

Wednesday, November 6th, 2019

9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Mountain Time

About the program:

Sixty-six million years ago, an enormous asteroid collided with our planet and brought the age of the dinosaurs to a dramatic end. Surviving life began to flourish, evolving over time into the plants and animals we are surrounded by today. But how Earth made a comeback after the impact has long been unknown to science ... until now! Join paleontologists from the Denver Museum of Nature & Science for a live virtual look at a groundbreaking new discovery made by the Museum, and learn what a new collection of never-before-seen fossils tells us about the history of modern life. Broadcasting live from the dig site if weather permits.

Please join us for this fun and interactive opportunity to dig up the history of modern life!
