From Project Green Schools:

Host the GREEN OLYMPICS this Spring to Engage Your School and Community in Environmental Action!

Project Green Schools is thrilled to announce the inaugural year of the Green Olympics sponsored by National Grid to be held in schools and communities around the country this Spring, and we invite you to be part of this new way to engage students, schools and communities in environmental action.

Participants will compete in environmental games and challenges focusing on energy, waste, food/agriculture, water, climate change and air. Specific challenges will be framed by Project Green Schools along with the option to create custom challenges to show how you celebrate sustainability at your school/organization!

Green Olympics events are environmental awareness and action programs with a fundraising component. You identify a project to “Green Up Your School/Community” and then money raised at the Green Olympics becomes a grant to fund your project and to further the cause of educating and supporting K-12 Environmental Education and Programs.

Schools/organizations have the option to host their events between April-June and can align with field day events or spring activities.

Project Green Schools will be awarding additional recognitions in the following categories:

·     Most Sustainable - The school/organization which employs the greatest best practices and reduces their environmental impact on Game Day.

·     Most Creative - The school/organization who creates the best custom-designed event or challenge.

·     Most Participants - The school/organization which has the largest number of event participants.

·     Most Funds Raised - The school/organization who receives the most in combined donations and sponsorships.

HOSTING KITS with instructions, videos for opening/closing ceremonies, marketing & fundraising materials will be available to registered participants. Click to learn more!

We look forward to working with you and making your event a success!
