Job Description / Duties

The Camp Coordinator is responsible for supporting campers and camp classroom dynamics and assisting in the management of camp staff for the second year of the Bell Museum’s Grand Rapids summer camp pilot program in 2023. The Camp Coordinator will occasionally assist the Lead Educator with co-facilitating educational experiences centered on environmental science, natural history, and agriculture for children entering 2nd - 6th grade. The Camp Coordinator works with summer camp staff and NCROC researchers to create a safe, engaging, age-appropriate, and positive learning environment for campers. This camp is a collaborative effort between the Bell Museum and the North Central Research and Outreach Center (NCROC) and is located in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

In addition to camp hours, there are opportunities to work additional hours (part time or full time) as an agricultural research assistant on the NCROC campus.

Qualifications / Required Skills

**QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of two years experience leading children in a formal or informal educational setting.

Training or experience as a camp leader or educator.

Experience in working with youth with cognitive, physical or other disabilities or diagnoses.

Experience working with youth and adults in a team environment.

Must be dedicated, dependable, flexible, and enthusiastic about working with youth.

Experience or relevant coursework in youth education, physical or natural science, or agriculture.

Experience working with persons from diverse backgrounds and learning styles.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Must be able to travel to the Bell Museum in Saint Paul for 2 training days in June (paid travel and training hours, plus mileage, accommodations, and per diem covered by the Bell Museum)

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience managing staff and/or volunteers.

Demonstrated understanding of basic science concepts, including agricultural, and natural sciences.

Experience in working with youth with cognitive, physical or other disabilities or diagnoses.

CPR and First Aid certified.

Salary: $18.50/ hour
