6-day Birding and Nature programs in Maine

Prices include housing, boat travel, and all meals. Teens must be age 14–17 and children in family camp must be age 8–13. Minimum age of 18 for all other programs. Scholarships are available. For more information see the website or email us at hogisland@audubon.org

 Programs

Spring Migration & Monhegan Island May 27- June 1
Set out in search of spring migrants and nesting species on territory. The session will include one night on Monhegan Island.

Joy of Birding June 3–8
Hone your birding skills during the height of the nesting season.

Hands-on Bird Science June 10–15
A perfect session for aspring ornithologists. Learn basics of bird banding, sound recording and how to prepare museum specimens.

Coastal Maine Bird Studies for Teens June 10–15; June 17–22
Get ready for an action-packed program with some of the country’s best-known birders and ornithologists. For teens ages 14-17 yrs/old.

Field Ornithology June 17–22
Learn about bird migration, ecology and family life of birds with discussion and field trips led by expert ornithologists and bird guides.

Mtns to Sea Birding for Teens June 24–29
From Borestone Mountain Sanctuary to Hog Island Audubon Camp, we will explore the diversity of Maine birds. For teens ages 14-17 yrs/old. Rustic accomodations.

Arts & Birding July 8–13
Join some of the country’s best bird artists and photographers to enhance your bird abilities. No experience or talent needed!

Raptor Rapture July 8–13
Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of birds of prey, with a special emphasis on Maine’s thriving osprey and eagle populations.

Sharing Nature: An Educator’s Week July 15-20
Learn inspiring and practical environmental activities to incorporate into your teaching while exploring Maine coastal and island habitats with expert naturalists.

Family Camp August 5-10; August 12-17
Explore tide pools, pristine forest and ocean life with our expert naturalists, and finish each day with songs and a campfire. For families with children 8-13 yrs/old.

Maine Seabird Biology & Conservation September 2–7
Get involved in seabird conservation with Audubon biologists! Help with habitat management of Eastern Egg Rock to improve habitat for puffins and terns.

Fall Migration & Monhegan Island September 2-7; Sept. 9-14
Take part in a special session focused on autumn migration. Interpret night flight calls and overnight on Monhegan and Hog Island during peak migration.
