Shipboard Science Workshop

Join the Center for Great Lakes Literacy aboard the US EPA's R/V Lake Guardian on an excursion through Lake Erie from July 8-14, 2019. Fifteen formal and non-formal educators of students in grades 5-12 from throughout the Great Lakes watershed will be immersed in Great Lakes science and pedagogy.

Join the Center for Great Lakes Literacy aboard the US EPA's R/V Lake Guardian on an excursion through Lake Erie from July 8-14, 2019. Fifteen formal and non-formal educators of students in grades 5-12 from throughout the Great Lakes watershed will be immersed in Great Lakes science and pedagogy. Participants will assist researchers from the US EPA Great Lakes National Program Office, Bowling Green State University, and the University of Wisconsin - Superior collecting data on harmful algal blooms, water chemistry and plastic pollution, all while living aboard the R/V Lake Guardian. Port stops in Cleveland, OH, Erie, PA and Put-in-Bay, OH will provide additional opportunities to learn about Great Lakes recreation, history and stewardship. Applications are due February 28, 2019.
