Job Description / Duties

Hours for this position will be 30-35 hours/week through the end of the school year, with core hours Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Will also include some evenings and occasional Saturdays. Summer positions available, as well.

Program delivery

Teach workshops to schools and other groups during their field trips. Teach outreach programs at schools and other community sites. Teach summer camps to children ages 5 to 13. Present activities to families during public hours at the Museum.

Curriculum development

Work with a team of colleagues to develop STEM curriculum for summer camps and group workshops.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Elementary Education or Secondary STEM Education

At least 1 year of experience working with elementary-age children, in an informal or formal setting: schools, early childhood centers, after-school programs, summer camps, museums, etc.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Interest and/or background in a STEM field; background in coding or technology education a plus. Experience working with diverse communities.

Ability to lift 50 pounds. A valid state driver’s license

Personal Attributes

Proven ability to work in a team setting as well as independently. Punctuality, attention to detail, and excellent follow-through. Flexibility and a good sense of humor.
