Job Description / Duties

Lead implementation of programs that provide district level support for K-12 computer science pathways, primarily for Minnesota school districts. Provide district support through professional development, coaching, and district planning to develop sustainable and equitable computer science pathways in districts. The National Center for Computer Science Education champions, researches, and provides equitable computer science education opportunities for K16 students and educators.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, education, or a related field; AND four (4) years of program support experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of:
Computer science education research and best practices for K-12 students and educators.
Equity in computer science education, including pedagogy and district policy.
Computer science curriculum, CSTA K-12 Standards (for students), and CSTA Standards for CS Teachers.
Skill and demonstrated experience interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Correct English usage, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and vocabulary.
Use of specified computer applications involving data processing, records maintenance, word processing, and/or standard report generation.
Business letter writing and the standard format for typed materials.

Skill in:
Use of software and applications related to program activities.
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work.
Promoting a climate and culture of diversity and inclusion.
Communicating effectively in oral and written forms.
Using tact, discretion, initiative and independent judgment with established guidelines.
Organizing work, setting priorities, meeting critical deadlines, and following up assignments with a minimum of direction.
Organizing and maintaining accurate reports, records and files.
Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of program goals, objectives and activities.
