2022 State Science Fair Recap

A total of 357 students from 70 schools across Minnesota competed in the 85th annual State Science & Engineering Fair (SSEF) from March 20-31! Results were announced in an online awards ceremony on March 30. Six top high school projects were selected for the Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) Award. Winning students will compete in the world’s largest pre-college science competition in Atlanta from May 7-13. The 2022 ISEF finalists are:

  • Mohit Agarwal and Aedin Yu (Eden Prairie High School)
  • Josiah Butler (Chaska High School)
  • Isha Kapoor (Mayo High School)
  • Caleb Smith (SouthWest Metro High School)
  • Adhvaith Sridhar (Wayzata High School)
  • Jeffrey Wang (Mayo High School)

2022 JSHS Winners

Seventy-one students from 22 schools showcased their original research in the North Central Regional Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (JSHS). JSHS is an annual STEM research paper competition for high school students in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Students advancing to the National JSHS competition are:

  • FIRST PLACE: Christine Song (Mayo High School)
  • SECOND PLACE: Quinn Hughes and Tyler Clair (Minnetonka High School)
  • THIRD PLACE: Stavya Arora (Maple Grove Senior High School)
  • FOURTH PLACE: Linnea Cooley (St Paul Academy and Summit School)
  • FIFTH PLACE: Adhvaith Sridhar (Wayzata High School)
