Radio Astronomy Workshop

by , posted on 12:19 PM, May 19, 2022
High school and middle school science teachers are invited to spend a week at Winona State University building a telescope to observe hydrogen gas from the Milky Way galaxy. We will talk about astronomy across the electromagnetic spectrum, radio frequency electronics, signal processing, and data analysis. Bring your telescope home for an exciting club project, or integrate it into your class!

Dear Colleagues,

I would like to tell you about a radio astronomy workshop I will be running this summer July 25-29 at Winona State University. The workshop is geared toward high school and middle school teachers who are interested in bringing radio astronomy, electronics, programming, and data science to their classroom and/or student clubs. We will be building telescopes together, and you will be able to bring yours home! It will be a small group so we can work closely together, but that means space is limited to ten participants.

Please email me at adam.beardsley@winona.edu if you have any questions about the workshop.

Cheers,

Adam Beardsley
