Job Description / Duties

Under general supervision of the Arts High School Principal, provide instruction for Biology and Environment & Sustainability classes in accordance with the agency's mission, philosophy, curriculums, and directions. Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum and lesson plans that meet the requirements of the school’s academic plan. Prepare instructional materials, conduct classroom instruction, and evaluate and assess student development performance. Prepare and provide feedback on students’ progress to students and parents/guardians; make suggestions for improvements as indicated. Participate in parent/teacher conferences, enter grades using Infinite Campus on a regular basis, and participate in staff and faculty meetings. Maintain communication with parents. Comply with MN teacher code of ethics. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications
-Valid Minnesota K-12 teaching license in Life Science or eligible to receive a Tier 2 teaching license within 45 days.
-Bachelor's Degree in Science or related field.
-Classroom management and organization skills.
Experience and proficiency in the implementation of current best practices and strategies in instruction and learning.
-Strong oral and written communication skills.
-Positive interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to students, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
Strong collaboration skills are sufficient to work with families and other team members.
-Knowledge and ability to adapt to students' learning styles and needs.
-Knowledge of relevant learning technology and proficiency in its use (i.e. Smartboard technology, MS ---Office Suite, Google applications, spreadsheets).
Preferred Qualifications
-Master's Degree in Science or related field.

Salary: $24.88-$48.32/hourly (salary will be determined based on the selected applicant’s experience and educational degree)
