From MnSTA President Jill Jensen:

Greetings!

I'm sending this message as a reminder of the next professional development opportunity for members. On Thursday, December 8th at 6:30 PM, all members are invited to join me via zoom to discuss the next section of the book: "Helping Students Make Sense of the World Using Next Generation Science and Engineering Practices". Our focus is on the first half of Section 2, which includes Chapters 5 - 9. This section unpacks each practice and how it might look in a classroom. These chapters examine Asking Questions, Developing and Using Models, Planning and Carrying out Investigations, Analyzing and Interpreting Data and Using Mathematics and Computational Thinking.

Members are welcome to join in the meeting even if they have not read or finished reading the chapters. A reminder email with the zoom link will be sent out next week, along with questions that can be used to guide our discussion.

Next week's meeting is part of an ongoing effort of MnSTA to connect with members and support science teaching and learning across the state. Attached to the email is the list of the upcoming meetings and topics. I look forward to connecting with those of you that can make it. Feel free to contact me with questions or if you need additional information: Jill.jensen@district196.org
