Job Description / Duties

High School STEM Teacher to join our start-up team. This position would teach multiple sections of Physics or Chemistry and one Math section. We seek individuals who have a zeal for working with high school students, who build meaningful relationships such that students feel safe to explore STEM in new ways, and who enjoy a collaborative, innovative work environment. We’re looking for talented, thoughtful individuals with the passion, commitment, and ability that is needed to bring our vision to life. We are interested in candidates who reflect the diversity within our school and who enrich the diversity of identity, lived experience, and thinking. This position will also be an advisor to a cohort of students.

Qualifications / Required Skills

The ideal candidate:
- Builds strong, trusting, supportive relationships with students and community members
- Thrives on a team of collaboration and changemakers in education
- Creates a joyful, irresistible learning environment that is hands-on and is guiding students through the learning process
- Is reflective and thoughtful about their practice, seeks feedback, and is excited to grow
- Demonstrates commitment to equity and anti-racist action, culture, and pedagogy
- Believes curiosity and creativity lead to content mastery (and not the other way around)

Candidate Qualifications:
- Belief in Exploration High School’s mission, vision, and values
- Enthusiastic self-starter operating with sustained energy and showing great initiative
- Licensed Secondary Education Physics, Chemistry, or Mathematics Teacher
- Ability to differentiate instruction and develop curriculum
- Design thinking and/or project-based learning experience preferred
- Google Drive proficiency, particularly with Google Docs and Google Sheets

Additional Information

Salaried position with a competitive benefits package, to include medical, dental, and vision for full-time employees. Position to start mid-August 2023.
