Dear Friend,

I’m reaching out on behalf of our Science team at the Child Mind Institute, the leading independent nonprofit in children’s mental health.

Each year, our Rising Scientist scholarship program recognizes five high school students from across the United States who demonstrate exceptional early achievement in psychology, neuroscience, or biomedical engineering research. The Child Mind Institute created the Rising Scientist Awards as a means of investing in the scientific leaders of tomorrow, accelerating discovery, and helping to meet the challenge of reducing youth mental health issues.

Below is some information about the program. We hope you will share these details with high school teachers, counselors, and parents who may be interested.

We are now accepting nominations for the 12th Annual Child Mind Institute Rising Scientist Awards, presented in partnership with Hunter College. Rising Scientist winners each receive a $2,000 scholarship for college expenses. Winners will be notified in August.

We are committed to advancing science that represents all by recognizing and supporting the achievements of those from diverse backgrounds. Please help us build the next generation of innovators — share this information with teachers, counselors, and parents who may be interested.

Sincerely,

Harold S. Koplewicz, MD
President and Medical Director
