Helping Students "Muck About" in their Data (Sept. 28, Register here)

  • Thursday, September 28th, 3-4:15 pm PT, 4-5:15 pm MT, 5-6:15 pm CT, 6-7:15 pm ET
  • Overview: Join friend of Data Puzzles Kristin Hunter-Thomson from Dataspire to learn more about the different ways we can help students "muck about" with data to get comfortable with and better understand it. Kristin will discuss the importance of exploratory data analysis ("mucking about") as a complement to more traditional data analysis strategies (make a claim from data). We'll also practice and discuss how to leverage features in and tools beyond Google Sheets to assist in this work. Finally, we'll reflect on how these strategies and tools can be integrated into Data Puzzle lesson sets.
