The Annual MESTA conference will be held Fri. Feb. 2, 2024, at the District 287 Conference Center in Plymouth.

Photographer Travis Novitsky Will be the Keynote Speaker at the MESTA Conference

MESTA is excited to welcome Travis Novitsky, nature and wildlife photographer and park manager of Grand Portage State Park, as the keynote speaker for the February 2 Minnesota Earth Science Teachers’ Association Conference.  This in-person conference will feature Mr. Novitsky along with four concurrent sessions and a pre-conference evening social event.

Friday’s sessions feature Leanna Bender, Ph.D. student at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Julie Lucas of Mining Minnesota, Dr. Peter Kang of the University of Minnesota, and Stephanie Erickson, Ph.D Candidate, University of Minnesota.  

Thursday’s pre-conference evening includes a presentation at the Como Planetarium, highlighting the upcoming April total solar eclipse and the relationships various cultures have with the night sky.

Take this opportunity to connect and reconnect with your colleagues from across the state and enjoy the day learning with other Earth science enthusiasts.  Breakfast, lunch, door prizes, and classroom resources are included with your registration.
