A Workshop for Educators - Small Life from a Great Lake Dear Center for Great Lakes Literacy educator, You are invited to a hands-on interactive workshop that will teach you about some of the smallest life found in Lake Superior, their ecology, how to collect and identify plankton using a plankton kit, and how to record your observations and data in already existing databases. Please read on for more information. US Environmental Protection Agency (Ontonagon Room) Cost: Free, but registration is required. Workshop description: A Workshop for Educators – Small Life from a Great Lake. Participants in this workshop will learn about algal ecology and harmful algal blooms, and receive in-depth training on the Cyanoscope kit (cyanos.org), including how to use the equipment and report their findings. Participants will engage in a plankton building activity and free teaching resources will be available.
